Clinical Biochemistry

Preparation: Fasting blood tests require 8-12 hours of water-only fast prior to sample draw.

Fasting Guidelines Warning
If your physician has requested a Fasting Blood Glucose (FBG) or lipid panel test, please do not eat or drink anything (except plain water) for 8 to 12 hours before visiting our lab. If you are taking regular diabetic or blood pressure medicines, consult your doctor for instructions on whether to take them before the blood draw.
